Jobs for New Hampshire's Graduates
Program Descriptions
Out-Of-School Programs at the Community
Technical Colleges
Our out of school programs focus on reattaching
our high school dropouts with the academic skills necessary to succeed
in life. One of the highlights of this program is the unique partnership
with the New Hampshire Community Technical Colleges who provide
space and support for our programs; it allows the students to experience
the world of post-secondary education while completing the GED certificate.
Multi-Year Programs
The Multi-Year Program serves high school students
from 9th through 12th grade. The seniors gain additional skills
in post-secondary opportunities, job attainment, job survival and
basic workplace competencies. The 9th to 11th graders focus more
on staying in school, citizenship, improving their academic status
and maintaining a connection to school, home and community. Our
Job Specialists play an integral role in that success.
Key Components of the Multi-Year program
include:
Career Association:
Student led organization that provides students
with the following opportunities:
- Undertake social and civic responsibilities
- Build leadership skills
- Learn how to work in a group setting
- Become active in a student club or association
for the first time in their high school year
Special Events
Initiation
and Installation Ceremony:
The purpose of this ceremony is to celebrate
the students’ involvement in the JAG program and official
membership in the Career Association.
Career Development Conference:
This is the highlight of the school year and
provides the opportunity for graduating seniors to attend career
development workshops, leadership development workshops, competitive
events (both individual and team) and receive recognition and awards:
- Recognize student leadership and achievement
- Develop a competitive spirit
- Build a higher level of self-esteem
- Involve potential employers
- Bring employers
and students together
One of the special highlights of this event is the scholarship
awards ceremony. Every year thanks to the Fund for Education and
the generosity of 2 of our board members, JNHG has awarded $15,000
to $23,000 in scholarship to deserving JNHG students.
Non-Senior Event:
Each Spring our non-seniors are engaged
in a day of fun team events to build leadership and team membership.
All JNHG students fro throughout the State come together for a day
of fun.
